“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” – Corrie Ten Boom

These were the first words I saw welcoming me to the House of ten Boom, when I found out I was accepted to King’s. These words continue to inspire me and remind me of God’s faithfulness.

The two years I spent at King’s were two of the most impactful and informative years of my life. They set me up for adulthood in ways I’m thankful for everyday. When I was choosing which university to attend, I was 19 and just started going to church regularly. My top choices were between a secular university and King’s. Ultimately I choose King’s as I believed the education would best teach me about my newfound faith - it’s a decision I’ll
forever be grateful for.

At that moment what I didn’t yet know just what a special community this is, especially in NYC. Everyone at King’s has a strong work-ethic, care for their faith, and a heart that will walk with each other through both the joys and sorrows of daily life. Today this type of community is truly a gem to find. The existence of the TKC Letters Project just goes to prove the supportive bond between King’s students.

The friendships forged at King’s provides a safe environment to discuss challenging concepts we learn in class, to act in courage knowing we have a support system, and to truly practice our faith. These friendships go beyond the doors of King’s, as it creates a support system both academically and professionally. I never could have imagined I would intern at the UN, travel to Israel, and get to be apart of initiates shaping culture today.

Every day I’m incredibly thankful for my time at King’s - for the ways I grew, my friendships, and how the education deepened my faith, soul, and character. Though the future of King’s is unknown - it’s all the more reason to be thankful for the present and to “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God” - Corrie ten Boom
